About

Facet Creative, established by Drew FitzGerald in 1996, is a multifaceted group specializing in content creation, creative direction, design, brand development, and company building across various domains including science, innovation, climate tech, environmental impact, social enterprise, philanthropic programming, and entertainment and celebrity engagement.

Drew, alongside Jaden Smith and a carefully selected team of science, engineering, public health, and innovation experts, co-founded 501CTHREE.org, a non-profit committed to advancing content and innovation in water, health, and shelter solutions. Notably, 501CTHREE has successfully deployed innovative water filtration systems in crisis areas such as Flint, Jackson, Newark, Watts, Skid Row, St. Louis, Cheyenne Tribal Lands, and Puerto Rico. The organization's groundbreaking work earned Fast Company’s Innovation Of The Year Award in the social good category in 2020.

Moreover, Drew is a co-founder of JUST Water, joining forces with Will and Jaden Smith to address plastic and carbon emissions associated with single-serve bottled water packaging. JUST Water pioneers innovative paper packaging and bioplastic alternatives, fostering a "public-private" partnership model to ensure ethical sourcing, conservation, and fair compensation for stakeholders.

Drew's contributions extend to academia, where he served as the Creative Innovation Director for the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). In this role, Drew provided strategic guidance on mission and innovation initiatives encompassing biomimicry, resiliency, smart cities, material science, environmental systems, biological nano-scale engineering, renewable energy, and artificial intelligence.

Furthermore, Drew served as the Creative Director of The Plasma Science and Fusion Center (PSFC) at MIT, spearheading efforts in nuclear and applied physics innovation. Notably, the center's breakthrough design and deployment of affordable, compact, and robust nuclear fusion power generators, now commercialized as Commonwealth Fusion Systems in Boston, offer a promising solution for carbon-free energy production on a global scale.

Drew's influence also extends to the MIT Innovation Initiative, where he played a pivotal role as the Incepting Creative Director, under the leadership of MIT President Rafael Reif and esteemed professors Fiona Murray and Vladimir Bulović.

As a founding advisor of The Prime Coalition, a pioneering non-profit originating from MIT Sloan, Drew contributes to directing philanthropic capital toward early-stage climate technologies.

Additionally, Drew served as an advisor to California Governor Gavin Newsom's cabinet on volunteerism and climate change.

Prior to his tenure at MIT, Drew served as the Creative Development and Innovation advisor at Dentsu US / Story Lab Group, where he led efforts in redefining storytelling impact across global brand media spends. He also held the position of CSR and Impact advisor for the entire Dentsu Aegis Network.

Drew's commitment to environmental advocacy led him to become a board member of the Environmental Media Association in Los Angeles, founded by Norman Lear and Alan Horn in 1989, to promote environmental themes in Hollywood film and television productions.
